The wine list for Friday is just below these few items of interest - and there is one half price bargain that will surprise you - Chateau Teyssier anyone?

The people of Iceland know how to party - it's part of their DNA. Every weekend in Reykjavik a couple of thousand people spill out of the night clubs and bars surrounding the main plaza in front of the Hotel Borg to catch their breath and watch as the sun rises over the harbor - it is really something to witness. NOW - who supplies the "Back Beat" for all of this fun? It's the Super Star DJ's like Dave Freeburg, that's who.

DJ Dave Freeburg
This Friday night we welcome back -
DJ Sir Round Sound.

Fresh from his winter tour of Iceland, we are proud to have our favorite beknighted disc-jockey back home!

Perhaps you were here for our Champagne tasting in December? Then you may remember his immaculate spinnings of vintage soul and funk 45's.

Dave will be back in our cellar making noise with his SERIOUSLY fine vinyl.

What a nice way to kick off the weekend - yes?

The proving grounds for all of this experimentation has become The Beanery. So all week long we are serving specials that may or may not - make it to the new menus that we are working on.

Palagetto Vernaccia $16

Palagetto VernacciaVernaccia di San Gimignano We love this glossy white from Tuscany!

Chardonnay lovers take note: subtle almond flavors with a long honey and wildflower finish. Soft mouth feel, yet crisp and clean - pair with mushroom risotto, butter-seared scallops, halibut or cod. Lobster with new potatoes and peas?

Pietra Majella Montepulciano $8

Montepulciano D'Abruzzo, dry, smooth with a spicy finish. The fruit is underlying and subtle, not punchy as many other Montepulcianos. Perfect with a big plate of linguine and red sauce.

"Fausto" Rosso Piceno $10

60% Montepulciano, 40% Sangiovese from the Marche region in Northeastern Italy. A remarkable value from an ancient but now obscure growing region. Scents of violets and wild cherry with a touch of smoke. Lush, with wildberry fruit, perfect matched with grilled meats. From an organic family vineyard!

Chateau Teyssier Saint-Emilion $20
Chateau Teyssier

Grand Cru Bordeaux at this price?!
The '05 and '06 sold out and we snagged the rest of the 2004 vintage. We're passing the bargain on to you!
We think 2004 in France was an overlooked gem - not overblown fruit, but fine with silky tannins and beautiful detail.
Did we mention Grand Cru?
Chateau Teyssier has been making wine since before Napoleon, old-vine Merlot and Cabernet Franc - drinking beautifully now.
But when we see it again it will be twice the price.

Lots of mail this last week - thank you we love the feed back.

One thing that stands out from all of the mail was the generally positive comments that Brie & Bleu now has its very own test kitchen - in the form of Thames River Beanery lunch specials.

Sure, it's all confusing, sure its never a dull moment - and yes - we do have a "Hybred Model" that may be hard for some to keep straight - "Your always moving things around" is a very frequent comment.

But the important thing is this: Lunchtime has never been so exciting around here. If you want a peek at the ideas, menus, and events that we are planning -
just come to 70 State Street between 11:30 & 2:00.

And of course we hope to see you at this weeks tasting.
Please Join Us - it's fun, informal, and a great way to start your weekend.

AAA.
