Casimiro Maule is from Trento and graduated from the enology school at San Michele. He got a call from Negri 35 years ago, asking him to come to work as their winemaker. Voted Winemaker of the year in 2007 by Gambero Rosso.
He is on his 37th Harvest at the winery. And is largely recognized as the one to have restored Valtellina winemaking to the exceptional standard it has reached today...he was named winemaker of the year by Gambero Rosso 2007 (received 2 tre bicchieri and another 2 of his wines made the finals), 5 Stelle is among the elite of four wines to have received Tre Bicchieri for 10 consecutive years...and the 2002 Cinque Stelle was voted the BEST wine of the year by Gambero Rosso 2006
