Monsieur Gerarde Bertrand
Gerard Bertrand Rose of Syrah $12
Gerard Bertrand is a very interesting character, an ex-rugby star who's developed a large operation of vineyards in Southern France. He's created a series of quality wines at all price points, still unmistakably French and Terroir-driven. First up, a fruity and lush Syrah rose from France's southern Languedoc region. A traditional summer style - dry and crisp with good body and weight. Perfect with salads, prosciutto and melon.
Gerard Bertrand Tautavel Red $18
A flagship red from Monsieur Bertrand - this lovely Rhone-style blend come from further south in Roussillon. Syrah, Grenache and Carignan hand harvested and barrel aged for six months. Elegant with notions of rosemary, clove and black currant. A perfect compliment to grilled lamb skewers or a quality hamburger!
Sauvignon Blanc $10
These carefully crafted values come from Argentina's high-altitude Mendoza region. This Sauvignon falls evenly between "California" and "New Zealand" styles - light tropical fruit and citrus, white flowers and a nice grassiness. Crisp and clean with good acidity - a perfect lemony compliment to clam strips or a bucket of steamed mussels!
Arido Malbec $10
Another outstanding bargain from Arido - delicate violet and currant aromas give way to robust cherry Malbec pepper and spice. The Arido vineyards are 3500 feet above sea level with hot sunny days and cool nights, perfect for long, even seasons of ripening for the grapes. This malbec weighs in at a relatively modest 13.5% alcohol - not overdone. We love it!
Please Join Us - it's fun, informal, and a great way to start your weekend.
