COMING IN AUGUST
We have decided to push the bar a little higher in the cheese department. We will be offering the finest Cave Aged cheeses from New York's Artisinal Cheese

Once you try Cave Aged cheese - it will change everything. Artisinal maintains the only certified Cave Aged program available and we are excited to bring you truly special selections. Of course we will be featuring these fine cheeses at the weekly tasting, beginning in August, for you discover.

This Friday night we welcome Mr. Alan Godycki of Grand Vintages. Featuring the wines of Ca'Momi.

"Ca' Momi is Italian for "House of Momi" and also the name of our family home in Italy. The name comes from local legend (and prior owner of the house) Momi dea Bionda and his obsession with the house and vineyards.

CaMomi_RossoDiNapa Ca' Momi wines are a celebration of his passions and quest for the simple pleasures of life.

In Italy, wine is a part of life, which is why we created Ca' Momi; impressive hand crafted Napa Valley and California wines you can enjoy with dinner each night, just as we do.

We invite you to enjoy Ca' Momi wines and celebrate life.

Salute!"

Please Join Us Friday Night - 5-8 PM
Meet Mr. Stefan Wich

Mr. Wich is a Top Gun for wine distributor Hartley & Parker. They call upon his skills for special events and whenever they need a "Special Handler" for visiting Wine Makers  and industry dignitaries. This Friday we get him all to ourselves.

Stefan has selected 3 wines from powerhouse producer
Masi Agricole

1 - Masianco - "Super Venetian"
Rated 89 Points Wine Enthusiast

masianco-banner1
A fresh white wine, aromatic and fruity in style; the unmistakable result of combining Pinot Grigio delle Venezie with the Appassimento technique, Masi's speciality.

Pinot Grigio and Verduzzo may sound like strange bedfellows, but there is nothing odd about this light and bright wine from one of the stalwarts of the Veneto. You might think of it as a Supervenetian white, with a big personality and a real affinity for food, particularly fish and grilled white meats.

According to Wine Enthusiast: "Pinot Grigio and Verduzzo are blended to shape a fresh and luminous white wine that would pair with seafood or light chicken dishes. The wine is clean and sharp on the palate with zesty acidity on the close."

A "Supervenetian" with great style, and a worthy "brother" to the famous red wine, Campofiorin.

2 - Masi Tupungato "Passo Doble"

Argentina - Argentina is regarded as one of the most dynamic wine-producing nations in the world, and possibly the most important wine-producing region in South America. Only four countries in the world produce more wine than Argentina. Considerable investments (much of which has come from famous French, Italian and California wine producers) have been made in new vineyards and winemaking technology in the past several years, which along with recent plantings of more premium varieties of grapes, has made Argentina much more competitive internationally. The Mendoza region is the most important region in Argentina's wine industry. And Malbec, among other Bordeaux varietals grown here, reigns supreme.

3 - Masi Campofiorin Ripasso - $18
88 Points - Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Masi campofiorin

A very versatile wine. Perfect with many different kinds of food such as pasta with rich sauces (based on meat or mushrooms), grilled or roasted red meats, game and mature cheeses.

One of Masi's unique speciality wines, made with the Masi double fermentation technique. A red wine made from local Veronese grapes vinified fresh from the harvest and then re-fermented with a small percentage of semi-dried grapes of the same varieties.
The wine splendidly encompasses the qualities of the Verona area: the excellence of the zone, the highly individual style of the indigenous Veronese grape varieties, and the originality of the techniques of "appassimento" (semi-drying) and Masi double fermentation. Combining simplicity and grace with power and majesty. Rich, full-bodied, round and velvety smooth on its finish.

Critical Acclaim:

"Deep ruby. Red fruits, chocolate and vanilla on the nose. Rich and suave in the mouth, with ripe red fruit and chocolate flavors that are ample but lack a little complexity. Finishes smooth and moderately long. The word brolo is equivalent to the French clos (a walled vineyard); this wine is made from a special selection of the best grapes available, all native and mainly corvina.
