1 - Barrel 27 - High on the Hog - $21
Rated 88 Points - Wine Advocate
A
Rhone-style White Blend is dominated by Grenache Blanc and Viognier,
with all the fruit coming from the Paso Robles appellation.
A
bright straw gold in color, with a seductive nose dominated by scents
of honeysuckle, dried pineapple, and a wet slate mineral note; supported
by fragrances of gardenia, lily, Cling peach, macadamia, and hazelnut.
"The 2009 High on the Hog is a superb value in
California white wine. A blend of 50% Grenache Blanc, 40% Viognier and
10% Roussanne, it flows with the essence of apricots, peaches, white
flowers and mint, all of which come to life beautifully on a
medium-bodied frame. The round, creamy finish makes it hard to resist a
second taste. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2013". - Antonio Galloni, Wine
Advocate
2 - Dutch Henry Napa Valley Estate Syrah - $22
"The best secret in the Napa Valley"
Sourced
from organically farmed "front yard" vineyard, this Syrah is a big,
bold and voluptuous wine that is juicy, intense, and gratuitously
seductive. Intense flavors of blackberry jam, with a supporting cast of
blueberry and cassis that is decadent from the first taste to its
persistent and lengthy finish. Luscious mouth feel and an assault to
the senses this is a big Syrah for the big Syrah lover.
Established
in 1992, Dutch Henry Winery is owned and operated by the Chafen family.

grown grapes in Napa Valley for over 28 years. The vineyards, orchards
and vegetable gardens are all COCF (California Organically Certified
Farm). Their son, Scott Chafen oversees the daily operations of Dutch
Henry Winery.
